We get it…life is busy!
Between work, family, friends, and everything else you have going on, it can be hard to find time for your health and wellness. We don’t blame you if you choose to go out for lunch everyday at work for those delicious tacos or that juicy cheeseburger. It’s quick, convenient and it tastes amazing!
Who really has the time to prepare anything healthy for themselves anymore? What if we told you it’s a lot easier than you think (and probably a little less expensive too!). Take a look at some tips for a quick and healthy meal at the office.
Wrap It Up
Wraps are probably the easiest and healthiest way to make a meal or a snack. You can buy a pack of sandwich wraps from any grocery store, and then buy some healthy sliced meats, peanut butter, or vegetable to put inside and well…wrap it up!
Try buying sliced turkey and make a simple turkey wrap when you’re feeling a little hungry. You have your carb and protein to give you energy and fill you up. Maybe put a smear of peanut butter on the wrap and make a small peanut butter wrap. Another source of carb and protein to give you energy!
Make a Salad
Lettuce or spinach is easy to buy! Just put it in a bowl and add grilled chicken, or some fresh fruits to a refreshing, healthy and light lunch or snack. If you are looking for the right dressing, stay away from any cream based dressing and go for a vinaigrette that will pair well with the salad you choose to make.
Chicken
Another simple thing to do – grill some chicken all at once and take a few breasts to work with you. You can snack on a breast throughout the day, or put it in a wrap on in a salad….see what we did there? It’s a lot easier than you think and won’t take much time to prepare.
Sandwich
Yes, we know, you love your foot-long Italian sub. Trust us, we do too! However, if you’re looking for a quick and easy meal for the office, you’re going to have to count this one out and go for a healthier sandwich. They are much easier to make than you think – especially during a busy day at the office.
You can do the same thing as a wrap and buy some slices deli meat, or maybe peanut butter for a quick pick me up. The catch? Watch the type of bread you buy and stay away from white bread. Try out a good whole grain bread and sliced turkey for a perfect snack or lunch during the day.
Fruit and Veggies
You can never go wrong with fruit and veggies as a pick me up. Grab a banana for a snack when you’re feeling hungry or some celery stick with peanut butter. Fruit and vegetables can give you energy during the day without the excess calories, and they are loaded with vitamins to help maintain a healthy body.
