Building The Divi Community
In early 2015, I started building and selling Divi Child Themes via Monterey Premier. It was never my intention to open up my own multi-vendor marketplace because I knew it was an enormous task for a one-person operation. In fact, in 2015 I reached out to a number of prominent members within the Divi Community to try and build something together, the results of which is now known as Elegant Marketplace.
But due to increasing demand for an additional platform for others to sell their products, in 2016 I went ahead and launched the multi-vendor marketplace on Monterey Premier.
The goal of the marketplace was not to generate a large income stream, rather it was more of a gesture of community to allow others the platform to buy and sell Divi third-party products (DTPP) from a trusted source. Over the last few years, we have been delighted to see the growth of the DTPP community and to see many fledgling startup developers grow into profitable businesses.
Elegant Themes is Close to Launching the New Official Divi Multi-Vendor Marketplace
It was always my hope that someday Elegant Themes would open up their own Marketplace and take over the helm of selling DTPP’s and add-ons. It is with great joy that I have been informed that they are getting closer to launching the new Elegant Themes Official Divi Marketplace.
Now that the DTPP community is maturing, I feel it is time to close down the Monterey Premier multi-vendor marketplace. I believe it is in the best interest of the DTPP community to encourage developers to begin selling products on their own websites and eventually through the Elegant Themes Official Divi Marketplace.
As I have studied the other communities that embrace the “add-on” ecosystem, such as Woo-Commerce and LifterLMS, I believe this is also in the best interest of the new generation of Divi & DTPP customers.
The New Monterey Premier Divi Marketplace
As of December 1st, 2018, we have officially closed the multi-vendor Marketplace. Existing customers will still have access to their accounts and the products they purchased after the closure. Our vendors will also still have access to the back-end of their accounts as well.
Back-end access will remain in place for a yet to be determined amount of time. Rest assured, we will make sure each and every customer and vendor is given a seamless transition to working directly with each other moving forward.
The Monterey Premier Divi Marketplace will remain open so that our clients can continue to browse through and purchase our own exclusive Divi Child Themes and plugins.
Once again I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the Monterey Premier family. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask
